A Father's Blessing

by Greg Asimakoupoulos

Posted: June 15, 2024

Celebrating the greatest gift a dad can ever give his children…

The blessing is the greatest gift
my precious dad gave me.
It says that I am special,
that the Lord said I should be.

It’s a compass for my future
and it points to godly goals
as it guides me to be cautious
on the journey of my soul.

This blessing says I’m gifted,
that I am most unique.
It says he sees potential
in the interests that I seek.

It says he’ll always love me,
that there’s nothing I can do
that would cause him to rescind his love
even when my friends are few.

It’s a crown of worth and beauty.
It’s a robe of family pride.
It’s an oath he spoke on God’s behalf
that says He’s on my side.
